Gwen is a dedicated model who enjoys experimental and upbeat photo shoots. Many Met artists request to work with Gwen as she is willing to try almost anything and consistently brings good humor, professionalism, and passion to her work. For this stirring photo shoot, Slastyonoff chooses a setting that is extraordinarily simple: a light filled room and a tomato red couch. Throughout the series, Slastyonoff hovers closely around Gwen’s body, never pulling back enough to allow the viewer a glimpse of the room around the model.
Slastyonoff often photographs models in everyday clothing and environments, creating an intimacy with the model that would not be possible with the classic pin-up girl look. As the shoot begins, Gwen is dressed in a simple bustier and panty set, embroidered with flowers. The white lace contrasts with her dark hair and the vibrant upholstery, creating a lovely visual effect. Starting off slowly, Slastyonoff shoots several pretty portraits of Gwen dressed her demure lingerie. In the first featured portrait, Gwen sits comfortably on the couch, on knee lifted.
