At Met-Art, we have come to expect a lot from Peter Dominic. His
natural nudes, featuring charming young models, have been appearing
on our site for years. There is always an air of transcendent mysticism
both about his girls and his locations, as if they occur in one
of those forests made famous in the Lord of the Rings – dewy,
dense, and full of latent desire.
And as if he knows exactly what we’d want, Dominic has delivered
with a pleasant new movie designed to satisfy our burgeoning curiosities.
Because when you look at a Dominic series, what you really want
to see is the way that the photographer and the model interact,
the way in which he achieves those apparently effortless little
tableaux in which a soft skinned young nymph poses almost angel-like
against a tree, seeming to have descended directly from the clouds
for our viewing pleasure.
Well, this process is the one you get to see if you watch Photoshoot
the Movie. The product is deceptively simple. All you see is a relatively
bland backdrop. Before it sits a completely naked young model. She
is tan and brunette with cute brown eyes. She is staring eagerly
up at the photographer, awaiting his masterly instructions. She
seems to be enjoying herself immensely, tickled pink to be playing
this game of artist and subject.
Then we watch as the two get to work. She spends some time down
on her knees, giving the “cute look” often identified
as the trademark pose of Japanese soft core. Then she’s up
on her feet for some swirling and hair tossing. She is careful to
show us all of herself, spinning around for full views of the front
and the back. This is a girl who clearly enjoys showing off her
god-given beauty, and we are all too happy to go along with her
sensual games.
The result of this inside glimpse at the model/photographer process
is that we get to see how these seemingly natural shots are actually
the outcome of some very hard work on the part of all involved.
As they say, it takes a lot of practice to make it look easy. And
that’s as true with music and acting as it is with erotic
photography. But what’s so amazing about this movie is you
can watch the model relaxing and unfolding like a little flower,
moving from a nervous ingénue to a more subtle and fluent
young woman, growing up, as it were, in front of the camera. She
is loosening, becoming more pliable in the hands of the master.
It is a sensual achievement of the highest order, all here on film.
Join Met-Art to see this remarkable movie.
