Gates of Heaven by Philippe Baud

Met-Art.com is proud to present its most recent photographer – Philippe Baud of Ontario, Canada. And if his first series – Gates of Heaven – is any indication, we will be enjoying great work from this North American master. The series has everything going for it – a beautiful model, large exposures, and crisp clear composition. Welcome, Philippe!

Philippe Baud resides in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, where he works as a professional photographer. Having grown up amongst the scenic alpine landscape of South Eastern France, he has developed a unique portfolio of nature photographs. His current photographic interests include capturing the beauty of Canadian landscapes, especially the countryside of Eastern Ontario, heritage architecture, various forms of figure photography and many aspects of portraiture.

The new digital technologies are now part of his camera bag, and his computer is a tremendous source of creativity. He can now show his work and distribute it worldwide via the Internet. Among his customers are people from Canada, the United States, Europe and even Australia.

His work has been exhibited in a number of Kingston art spaces including Agnes Etherington Rental Gallery, Eclectica Gallery, The Canadian Shop, The Wind Mill Cafe, The Towne Crier and more. His work has been published in publications like Queen's Quarterly, the French magazine PHOTO, and online in Apogee Photo Magazine and Photo Sélection. Philippe's artwork is sold mainly as framed prints but also as greeting cards. Most of his best prints are available in limited print edition.

This particular series by Philippe features nearly fifty high resolution images of a darling young model posing in front of what appears to be an old shack or homestead. The images combine perfectly Baud’s three central passions – nature and architecture and nude women. One of the surprising and delightful parts of the photo shoot is the way in which the model and Baud work together. We get to see her in many poses, exposing her total richness and beautiful diversity. There is also a joy to the pictures that one rarely sees.

We are very happy to have Philippe Baud in the Met-Art.com family. And we look forward to many more beautiful series in the future. As for Met-Art.com, we will continue in our mission of bringing the finest photographers in the world onto one site.
