When you subscribe to a site, there're important technical aspect to keep into consideration. One of the most important ones is SPEED. Since day one, in 1999, we hosted with one of the best and fastest providers in the US. Today we're still hosting with this super fast provider. We could switch to much less expensive ones, as ours is far more expensive than the norm, but we would compromise speed and reliability, much to our customer's expense. MET ART runs on 10 servers linked by a complex and futuristic fiber optic network (GFS - Global File System (GFS) is a 64-bit shared disk cluster file system for Linux).

Needless to say, unlike most other sites, our bandwidth is NOT throttled, and never was. We're never concerned about our bills, we're more concerned about you having a nice, extremely fast and reliable surfing experience, and that's our number one priority. Our customers are the heart of MET ART and they have all our attention.

 
To make your stay with us even better, beginning December 2002, MET ART also offers what only top quality sites make available to their members: ZIP files. Each and every series can be entirely downloaded with a click of a button, saving our users a lot of time. Of course, contrary to what some people may think, this is another very expensive decision, as the bandwidth cost skyrockets, rather than going down. This is why only very successful sites, and not medium and small sites, offer this option. Most of other sites, simply cannot afford to offer this option, as they would not be able to cope with the added expenses.

With the same speed / quality philosophy, MET ART also offers movies in four formats, rather than one or two. Being concerned mainly about our users, we offer our members four grades of quality and size: DIVX, MPG, Window Media and Real. Whether you're on a modem connection or a DSL, you'll find a format that fits your needs. The same goes for our photos. MET ART invented the High Res. and Low Res. option, back in 1999. Our standard has become the goal for any decent site, as we forced more and more sites to listen to their customer's requests for higher resolutions. When you see sites bragging about High Res. formats, you will know it came from us and our members, not from the webmaster's free will.

MET ART might not have the best design, but we always thought that this is a photography site, not a nice, but empty very cute box. And the box does not count. What matters is what's inside, and we have only the best, esthetically and technically.
